From There to Here

I just read two things that made me excited for baseball season next year, and it’s BARELY November.

1) Terry Francona will be managing your 2008 American League All-Stars in the last big game to be played in Yankee Stadium. I say last big game, because there’s no way in hell the gang that can’t shoot straight and the front office who just picked up a former washed-up catcher to manage the team are going to make the playoffs in 2008. Can you say rebuilding year?

2) The Red Sox have not one, but TWO weekend series in Toronto. After doing a Baltimore road trip in 2005 to watch the Sox and Orioles and heading to San Diego last year to watch the World Baseball Classic and see Petco, I didn’t make any baseball trips this year, thanks to the Sox not having a single weekend series in Toronto. This year, maybe I’ll head to both. One in April and one in September. They both sound good to me.
