There is literally nothing happening tonight.
I’ve been lax in my updates because of some great baseball (Sox clinch AL East, Sox clinch best record, amazing Pads-Rocks game last night where the Rocks win in a controversial 13th) and some great football (good games all weekend followed by another Pats drubbing last night).
So before I start on my homework (third class this Friday, and already wondering why I want a MPA? Yep!), a quick update:
WhoLetTheDogsFight? won its fourth round matchup against college roommate Nikhil, and we’re 4-0 to start out the season. While I’m all alone in first place, there’s two teams that are 3-1 and my point total (441) is a serious liability since I’m fifth in points. That will be an important tie-breaker in the future, as there’s no way I can go undefeated.
But big thanks to Tony Romo, who’s put up gaudy numbers and 105 fantasy points (more than anyone else in the league) through four games. The next closest? Tom Brady and Randy Moss from the aforementioned New England Patriots’ juggernaut have both put up 91 through the first four games.
This week, I’m matching up against former FreePer Matt Stout, who’s now a Connecticut resident. I’m not feeling good about this week, but here goes nothing. (And I took second place in a 12-team fantasy baseball league. After going into the playoffs as the five seed, then beating the four seed and one seed, I slipped and couldn’t get by the two seed. Oh well).
Ok, onto homework. It hurts just to say it. But before, let me show you statistics from these two baseball players from May to present. What do you think of this?
[Player A]: .333/.389/.467, 36 doubles, 81 runs scored, $380,000
[Player B]: .319/.386/.454, 36 doubles, 84 runs scored, $21.6 million
You’re really fine whichever player you go with. But you have a little money leftover if you go with Player A, as Player B makes more than !!56!! times what Player A makes.
Player A is Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia. Player B is Yankees shortstop (and Captain) Derek Jeter. This fun fact courtesy of ESPN’s Jayson Stark
