From tonight’s Red Sox game, when Remy and Orsillo decide its best in the fourth inning to debate “which way the moon is going to move tonight”:
Orsillo: I wonder if the wind has anything to do with it.
Remy: The wind moves the moon? (incredulously)
Orsillo: I don’t know!
(a minute passes; camera focuses on wind blowing right-to-left)
Remy: Well, if the wind has anything to do with it, I’m going to be right.
Um, this drives me crazy. It’s like when Renee Russo was in the booth for an inning, and things just got irritating.
First of all, Remy’s the one to blame here. He pitches that lame Red Sox nation thing all season. He tries to get us to go to his website. He’s kind of ridiculous, and while I’ve loved him for years, he’s starting to piss me off. CLEARLY, Orsillo is kidding. He doesn’t believe the wind has anything to do with it. But you ask Orsillo about the wind after he says it like he’s crazy? You’re crazy. Get a sense of humor, you chain-smoking schill.
I bet he’ll try and read the promo for the bottom of the fourth and just lose it laughing like he usually does… God, sometimes I wish the game was on Fox so I could listen to Buck and McCarver. At least I KNOW I’m going to be irritated when I tune in.
