From There to Here

Moved everything out of Revere yesterday and moved everything into the new place today.

The girls who were living here before us left a complete and utter mess, including bags all over the foyer, coat hangers all over the place, a disgusting bathroom, a kitchen that was dirty, a FULLY STOCKED fridge (mostly condiments and leftovers in Tupperware containers) that was absolutely disgusting, a freezer with different mystery meats in plastic bags and a cat carrier in the way back. Needless to say, we weren’t pleased after moving everything out of Revere and cleaning the hell out of our place.

We were going to try to move in the same night, but by the time we got the truck back to Somerville from Revere where we left it, it was 10 p.m. and the place was a disgusting mess. So Mike and I went back to the city and crashed with his brothers, who came to help us move and had a room at the Omni Parker. This morning, we called our broker, and they did a hell of a job making everything right. It wasn’t their fault the girls left the place a hellhole, but they did everything they could to make it better for us. Our broker called the property manager who called the cleaning people, and they’re in the kitchen right now, straightening everything out.

So while moving in might not have been the best right away, we’re now fairly pleased with the level of work going on over here. As I’m already posting a blog entry, you can figure my Internet is working. The RCN people and the cleaning crew were here at the same time for a while, as was our property manager, which made things interesting. But things are calming down quite a bit since our internet/tv/phone is finally set up.

I’ll post more later. Right now, we have to wait for this cleaning crew to finish up, and then take the truck back to Peabody. Then it’s going to be a long night of setting some shit up. Maybe some pictures once it’s all said and done…
