From There to Here

Terry Francona made a mental guffaw last night, and I’m not even talking about sending Lester back out for the FOURTH. That was ridiculous and irritated me, but we’ll let Eric Wilbur carry the water on that one. I think he got it exactly right.

As for Francona’s mental error, it happened after the game. Probably in the wake of this in Minnesota

you don’t want to go with statements like the one he had after the game. I mean, I don’t know for sure. But I’m just saying — you might not want to use this for a while…

The Yankees? “People dropping off bridges are going to miss some good baseball,” Francona said sarcastically. “They’d better climb back up.”

Oh wow. Um… yeah. I read this quote and that was the first thing I thought of. Even worse, Edes wrote ‘Francona said sarcastically. Jeez-us.
